The full text, folio by folio, as in the report. Bold marks the passages deciphered from the cipher; the rest is the clear text of the letter. Question marks are the report’s: [?] or a bare ? for a sign or group left unread, a ? after a word for a doubtful reading.

- The letter
- A letter of 6–8 August 1650 from Madrid to the Duke of Bouillon, in French; the sender is not established.
- Where
- BnF Clairambault 460, pp. 53–55, one of the items in George Lasry’s BnF report (p. 69).
- The cipher
- A graphic cipher of 54 symbols: 50 letter signs and 4 unidentified.
- How it was read
- Interlinear plaintext survives on all three pages; Lasry rebuilt the key from it. Our spot check read “droit a paris” from his p. 55 crop, but the folio identity was not checked on Gallica.
- What it says
- The postscript tells of a courier: Don Louis writes to urge the addressees to enter France and march straight to Paris.
- Still open
- 4 symbols are unidentified; 8 of 949 elements are not identified.

- Key and reading are George Lasry’s.
01 Verification
Spot-check against the manuscript
This result is George Lasry’s. This project did not re-solve the cipher: it checked one sample against the Gallica image and recorded what it found.
- Batch A. Image checked: none (no Gallica link in entry; Clairambault 460 pp53-55 checked only via his p55 crop)
- Folio matches the report: unclear; cipher present: yes
- What we checked: p55 crop last cipher line "x h e [i] 13 | 3 | [box] 3 h m 8" with his system-A table (x=d, h=r, e=o, 13=t, 3=a, box=p, m=i, 8=s) = "droit a paris", matching interlinear "marcher droit a paris" and his excerpt
- Verdict: partly confirmed (method key recovered based on adjacent plaintext, extent complete). The check is a sample, not a re-solution.
- Notes: Folio identity not checked on Gallica. Interlinear plaintext throughout pp53-55; reading largely restates it. Same volume as clair460alpha.
